Morpheus8 Toronto and Forma Facial Toronto are here! We know you’re excited to book your appointment but first, we’re giving you all the tea in today’s blog post. What exactly are the Forma and Morpheus8 facials? Who are they for? How do they work? What is the post-treatment downtime? We’re answering all your burning questions. Let’s go!

What is Forma?

The Forma uses bipolar radiofrequency technology to remodel the skin. Through a combination of heat and radiofrequency, Forma stimulates collagen production thus tightening and improving the appearance of the skin. This treatment works on deep skin layers to minimize fine lines and wrinkles while providing an overall toned appearance (read: snatched jawlines and cheekbones).

What is Morpheus8?

If you were happy with your microneedling results, prepare to be even more amazed by the Morpheus8. This treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate new collagen production, soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks, and refresh the skin’s appearance anywhere on the face or body. The most common treatment areas for Morpheus8 include the face and neck, abdomen, hands, or body.

The Morpheus8 is the deepest subdermal fractional device available. What does that mean? Basically, it means that this treatment can remodel both the skin and underlying fat layer in one treatment for some insanely impactful results you have to see to believe.

Forma vs. Morpheus8

Both Forma and Morpheus8 are non-invasive or minimally invasive aesthetic treatments used to improve the skin's appearance and texture. However, they are distinct technologies with different mechanisms of action and target different skin concerns.

Forma:

  1. Technology: Forma uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deep layers of the skin. The RF energy stimulates collagen production, which helps tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Skin Concerns: Forma is primarily used to improve skin laxity, treat mild to moderate facial wrinkles, and enhance skin texture.

  3. Treatment Area: It is commonly used on the face, but it can also be used on other body areas where skin tightening is desired.

  4. Procedure: During the Forma treatment, a handheld device is applied to the skin, delivering controlled RF energy. The procedure is relatively comfortable and does not require any downtime. Multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results.

Morpheus8:

  1. Technology: Morpheus8 is a combination of micro-needling and radiofrequency (RF) energy. It uses tiny microneedles to create micro-injuries in the skin while delivering RF energy to the deeper layers. This process stimulates collagen production and remodels the skin.

  2. Skin Concerns: Morpheus8 is used for skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, and the treatment of acne scars and stretch marks. It can improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles, and provide a lifting effect.

  3. Treatment Area: Morpheus8 is commonly used on the face, neck, and body to address various skin concerns.

  4. Procedure: The procedure involves the use of a handheld device with microneedles that penetrate the skin at specific depths, combined with RF energy. It is minimally invasive and typically requires a short downtime, as the skin needs time to heal after micro-needling.

Is the Forma facial painful?

Good news! This treatment is not painful. It’s actually quite pleasant. Patients have compared it to a hot stone massage.

Is the Morpheus8 facial painful?

Since this treatment works on deep layers of the skin, you will feel it. But, don’t worry, that just means it’s working! Plus, we use a strong topical numbing cream for 1 hour prior to treatment.

What is the post-treatment downtime for the Forma facial?

There is zero downtime after the Forma facial. You’ll experience a little redness as a result of the heat but this will usually subside within a few hours. This treatment creates a lifting effect that can last up to 72 hours with one treatment but with multiple consistent treatments, the Forma can rival the capabilities of surgical procedures.

What is the post-treatment downtime for the Morpheus8 facial?

The downtime after a Morpheus8 treatment is minimal. We recommend that clients allow for 24 to 48 hours for healing after each treatment. Some redness, bruising, and swelling can occur after your treatment, and small scabs will form in the area treated as well as dry skin for about 7 days as the skin heals. Makeup can generally be applied 1-2 days after treatment.

While results start to develop after a few days, the full extent of your results may take weeks to a few months to develop. Most individuals require one to three treatments, but this can vary depending on the correction that you are looking for.

Are the Forma and Morpheus8 treatments safe?

Yes!  Dr. Leah spent months reviewing the literature to ensure that these treatments were not only safe but that there was also compelling evidence that these treatments deliver the results they claim to.

We hope you’re just as excited about these treatments as we are! For more on Forma & Morpheus8 cost Toronto click here. We can’t wait to do your treatment! Snatched jawlines, glowing cheekbones, and toned skin … here we come!
